At 12:00 noon the owner's wife, (sister, or some other member of their family) surprised me with a steaming hot bowl of something for lunch. I don't know what it is, but it is tasty.
It looks like a soup, but is sweet. There are grapes, almonds, walnuts, some grains, and I think Bulgar wheat and what might be chick peas. Maybe some cinnamon and honey in it, too.
It all tastes something like a very nutritious, delicious breakfast cereal.
I have eaten half the bowl already.
Can anyone, Omer or Aysel, tell us more about this dish? Omer kindly responded in the comment section and gave a great link to read.

ReplyDeleteYes. Islamic calendar's first month's name is Muharrem and Ashure is made in this month. Ashure means "tenth" in Arabic. Ashure day is tenth of Muharrem month. This year, the exact date was 3 Novermber 2014. But in turkey people make Ashure after tenth of Muharrem. This is not only an islamic special day. These are :
