We had a wonderful stop at the tiny village of Nazar Koy, All of the people in the village are in the business of making the glass Nazar. This amulet is seen everywhere in homes, jewellery, cars etc. It is said to protect one from the evil eye. The evil eye primarily comes from someone who is envious of another, or wishes him ill will. He may cast an evil eye either in advertently or deliberately.
The villagers make the beads and other larger pieces, as shown in the photo of the fires, and string or mount them as required.
Over the years I have had a few Nazar gifts, so it was truly wonderful to go where they are actually made. This place doesn't seem to be on the tourist route for foreigners, but is for Turks.
