Note:
When I stopped for a lunch of rotisserie chicken, finished off on a wood fired grill, two very traditionally dressed Turkish women stopped to buy a couple of chickens to take home. While they were waiting they tried to make conversation with me, but the only thing that registered was when one looked at my plate and said, "schmeck". I gave her a thumbs up, and she smiled. This was truly amazing and reminded me of our own Edna Staebler and her cookbook, Foods That Really Schmecks.
A little taste of home in tiny Karahyahit, Turkey.
