Monday we had a lovely day out. We drove to nearby Selcuk which is 2 kms from Ephesus, a very importance site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephesus.
I didn't go in and walk around today, but will the last week of my time here when I am in better physical shape because it takes hours to see.
Also, we did not go to the Church of St. John, which is built over the tomb of St. John, because it is a very difficult walk up.
We did spend time at the house of the Virgin Mary about 4kms from Ephesus. This is where Mary spent the last years of her life. St. John the apostle took Mary here sometime between the years 37 and 45. A tiny chapel was built on her home…"

It is a calm, peaceful place, and visited by pilgrims from all over the world. A tiny chapel was built over her home.
